When testing and/or researching within this field, it is always better using oscilloscope as it allows one to see the wave pattern thus allowing one obtain a more satisfactory result in comparison to using an analog or digital amp/volt multimeter as it may lead to incorrect results. However a digital/analog multi-test would produce accurate results if the signal is consistent.
